Cinzia N. Rojas

Artista e fotografa italomessicana, dopo la laurea in architettura consegue una laurea specialistica in Arti Visive presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera a Milano. Approfondisce la fotografia presso l'Institut d'Estudy Fotografics de Catalunya (IEFC).
Conduce un lavoro di ricerca e sperimentazione sull'immagine e sulle possibilità della fotografia in ambiti ancora poco indagati sia in formato digitale che lavorando in camera oscura.
Ha partecipato a diverse mostre e festival in Italia e all'estero, e vinto diversi concorsi.

Dal 2016 il suo lavoro è presente nella collezione del MUSINF di Senigallia.

Il suo lavoro è stato pubblicato nel libro ‘Il corpo solitario’ vol. 2 di Giorgio Bonomi, ed. Rubettino e sulla rivista di fotografia messicana Cuartoscuro.
Ha tenuto workshop di tecniche off-camera e cianotipia presso il museo MAXXI di Roma.

'La fotografia è il medium artistico che utilizzo nel mio lavoro. L'interesse e la passione per la fotografia mi hanno spinto ad approfondire le diverse tecniche con l'obiettivo di poter realizzare anche le idee più estreme utilizzando contaminazioni di genere e ibridazioni per creare immagini inaspettate e inusuali.Sono interessata tanto alla materia sensibile della fotografia quanto alle immagini intese come traccia. Lavoro indagando la fotografia nel senso più puro della definizione, utilizzando tecniche off-camera in cui rendo protagonista la luce e le impronte che questa lascia sulla materia sensibile, e il risultato sono lavori intimi, quasi sussurrati, a tratti delicati ma potenti. Lavoro spesso con immagini eteree, quasi intangibili, effimere e a volte illusorie, come la natura propria della luce.Lavoro pensando che l'obiettivo principale dell'arte sia di comunicare qualcosa che possa emozionare e portare oltre un primo sguardo superficiale, oltre l'apparenza.Ogni progetto è un viaggio dentro la fotografia, per capire cosa questa sia nella sostanza, non solo immagine da mettere in una cornice ma sicuramente molto di più.'​                                                                                                                                     Cinzia N. Italian-mexican photographer and artist, after the graduation in architecture she obtained a master's degree in visual arts at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. She deepest photography at the Institut d'Estudy Fotografics de Catalunya (IEFC).
As an artist she carries out a research and an experimentation on the image and on the possibilities of photography in areas still little investigated both in digital image and in darkroom.
She took part in several exhibitions and festivals in Italy and abroad and won several contests.

From 2016 her work is present in the Senigallia MUSINF Collection.

Her work has been published in the book ‘Il corpo solitario’ vol. 2 by Giorgio Bonomi and on the Mexican photography magazine Cuartoscuro.

She taught cameraless techniques and cianotype at the MAXXI museum in Rome.

'Photography is the artistic medium I use in my work. The interest and passion for photography led me to deepen the different techniques with the aim of being able to realize even the most extreme ideas. using genre contaminations and hybridizations to create unexpected and unusual images.I am interested both in the sensitive matter of photography and in the image as a trace. I work by investigating photography in the purest sense of definition, using off-camera techniques in which the light and the footprints it leaves on the sensitive material are the protagonists. The result is an intimate work, almost whispered, sometimes delicate but powerful. I often work with ethereal images, almost intangible, ephemeral, sometimes illusory, like the nature of light.I work thinking that the main aim of art is to communicate something that can excite and take beyond the first superficial glance, beyond appearence.Every project is a journey into photography, to understand what this is in the essence, not only an image to frame but certainly much more.'​                     Cinzia N.
